Who is this for?

So here you are, you have seen lots of jobs you know you can do, you just need an opportunity to prove yourself. They want you to fill in an application form, or provide a C.V. and references, but where do you start? Have no fear! Over four evenings in September we will show you how you can apply for jobs and present yourself as a suitably qualified and enthusiastic candidate.

How is it done?

Jim Johnston is a professional trainer specialising in management,
communication skills, employment law and interviewing. He has worked
extensively in the private and public sector as well as in the US,
South America and across Europe. He brings a wealth of experience to
this programme and will be teaching techniques that help people
achieve their dreams.

What will the course cover?

Held over four evenings from September to November this programme will cover:

 How to identify your skills, knowledge and experience
 Creating a C.V or completing an application form
 Understanding the jargon used in job adverts
 Working out pay and benefits
 The rules on ‘self-employment’
 Writing letters
 Preparing for an interview
 Understanding the questions you will be asked
 Preparing fantastic answers to awkward questions
 Updating your skills and knowledge
 How to display confidence
